Yup , i bought the first few copies.. about the content.. nothing much.. personally i think BCBF offer more stuffs. The magazine actually talks more about the local badminton scene in the phils. Can't really offer much for international readers.
I got the 2nd and 3rd issues. Contents are generally very good. It provides news on recent international tournaments, as well as national badminton events. It provides information on available courts all over the Philippines. It provides tips on playing and training for the game. It also has product information like how to spot fake yonex rackets and what to look for in badminton shoes. And others like what's in a drink like gatorade and similar products are also available. With this magazine, you could see how badminton has blossom into one of the favorite sports of Filipinos. Now all we need is government support to train players and have them play in international events even if just in south east asia (malaysia, indonesia, singapore), so the local players could be expose to top badminton games. ^_^x
In the Philippines, there's a lot of them. It's such a big sport here that it's not unusual to spot actors and actresses in badmiton gyms. In one group I regularly play with, a former beauty queen plays badminton with us! btw, there's a small chance I'll be in the Bay Area this August on business. I'll try to bring some copies of the magazine.
damm, i am playing badminton in a wrong country here. oh well, anyone knows where i could get a copy here in Brunei?
I will try to scan some of the pages over for you guys next time. Regarding the content.. nothing much.. basically about the same each month. Only few different articles.
dude, i dunno if we're on the same page, but methinks that the women ur looking at are models, not real (not even recreational i bet) players... that is if ur looking at that section where the girl is posing around in different badminton outfits and gear. but still, badminton has become really big here in the phils and the hot chick ratio goes up along with the general playing population, so yeah, i guess there still a good chance of you seeing similar sights over here
Website not updated. There's already a new issue out. Its improved a bit on the content. Will try to bring some in OCtober if i'm lucky to visit the Bay Area to.
Not very sure if Ms Kelly Misa should be so 'well dressed' for a sports magazine. Now it's beginning to look more like a local men's mag like FHM or Loaded. This IMHO can actually alienate the female readers. The other cover, blue and yellow, definitely looked more professional. Ok, ok, the front cover is great ok!
Oh man, if all women look like that on the courts, I will be willing to throw lots of money opening my own courts and "enjoy"!! (That's like every man's dream )
actually if this pertains to kelly, yes, her being a friend, neighbor and student of mine, she does play badminton. the badminton community is tight here in RP so its easy to check if a player/model does engage in the sport. Most of the models who showcase the sports fashion do play badminton. maybe not competitively, but at least recreationally...
For those Msians who wants a copy you can tell me. I can send some copies to you guys. But frankly speaking , nothing special about this mag. Anyway its better to have one than none.
I do own several copies of this magazine I'm currently asking permission to repost one of my favorite articles here in BF. The article is about badminton's power couples, Chen Hong with Gao Ling and Lin Dan and Xie Xingfang. A very light and ammusing article, specially the interview with Chen Hong and Gao Ling. Philippine's very own top badminton players, Kennie and Kennevic Assuncion, made the interview. I do hope BadMag allows me to repost the article.
